✈️ Getting to IQS and the Sarrià Area from Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN)

The IQS campus and the conference hotel, Ikonik Anglí, are both located in the elevated, upscale Sarrià-Sant Gervasi neighborhood. Because this residential area is not directly connected to the airport's coastal transit lines, we highly recommend ranking your arrival options in the following order:

1. Taxi (Best/Most Convenient): This is the fastest, stress-free route directly to your hotel or campus. Taxis cost €30 to €40 and take 25 to 35 minutes. Taxi ranks are located right outside the exit doors of both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
2. Aerobús Express Shuttle (Best Value): Take the A1 (Terminal 1) or A2 (Terminal 2) express bus to the final stop at Plaça Catalunya. Tickets cost €7.45 to €10.25 for a 35-minute highway ride. From there, walk directly into the underground commuter station and take the FGC train (S1 or S2 line) straight up to the Les Tres Torres or Sarrià station. Total travel time is 50 to 60 minutes.
3. Metro & Train Public Transit (Least Convenient): This route requires multiple tedious transfers with luggage. Take the L9 Sud Metro Line from the airport, transfer at Torrassa station to the L1 Red Line to Plaça Catalunya, and switch to the FGC train (S1/S2) up to the campus area. Tickets cost €5.50 for the airport metro plus an additional train fare, taking 60 to 70 minutes total.

💳Getting Around: The T-Casual Transit Card

For attendees staying multiple days or traveling around Barcelona, do not buy single tickets. Instead, purchase a T-Casual card at any metro or FGC station ticket machine.

• What it is: A non-personalized card valid for 10 rides across the entire integrated Barcelona transit network (Metro, FGC commuter trains, buses, and trams).
• The Rules: It costs roughly €12.15 (Zone 1, which covers all central Barcelona and the university). It is individual-use only, meaning multiple people cannot swipe the same card back-to-back to enter a station. Each ride includes 75 minutes of free transfers between different transit modes. Note: The T-Casual is not valid for the L9 airport metro line station, but it is valid for the FGC trains and regular city buses.

 For Attendees Staying Elsewhere in Barcelona

If you are commuting to IQS from other districts of the city, the campus is easily accessible via the FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat) commuter train network. The two closest transit stops to IQS are:

• Les Tres Torres Station - An 8-minute walk to campus. Best for a direct, quiet approach.
• Sarrià Station - A 10-minute walk to campus. This is a larger hub with more frequent train options.

Both stations run directly on the S1 and S2 lines coming out of downtown Plaça Catalunya.
